First wholly foreign-funded medium-sized hydropower station dams river

China first wholly foreign-funded medium-sized hydropower station - Qinghai Zhiganglaka Hydropower Station successfully dammed the river on its main riverbed.

Zhiganglaka Hydropower Station is the sixth cascade hydropower station slated for the upstream of the Yellow River, which costs 1.42 billion yuan. It is jointly developed by the US AES Group and Hong Kong Zhenxing Group. The project has a total installed capacity of 192,000 kilowatts. It is equipped with 5 turbine hydro-generator units and its theoretic power generation is estimated at 760 million kilowatts.
