Putin accuses US of dictatorial policy
font size

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday (December 3) accused the United States of pursuing a dictatorial foreign policy and said mounting violence could derail progress towards bringing peace and democracy to Iraq.

He also criticized the West for setting double standards on terrorism. Putin's remarks came on a visit to India.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said, "Attempts to restructure various civilizations already in existence unilaterally is the most dangerous thing.

The more effective the authors and supporters of these ideas, the more humanity will lean dangerously in economic and social development.

With the global threats of international terrorism, organized crime and drugs, the greater the danger of dispersion of weapons of mass destruction, and the greater the danger of their falling into the hands of terrorists.

"And, I think you will agree with me, never in the history of human dictatorship, and moreover international affairs, has this resolved, could this resolve, such a problem. Even if this dictatorship is packaged in beautiful democratic phraseology, it will not be able to solve systemic problems. On the contrary, it will only make them worse."
