Sharapova becomes GQ woman of the year
font size

Russian tennis sensation, 17-year-old Maria Sharapova, was selected by a New York based magazine GQ as one of the 2004 Women of the Year.

The Glamorous Sharapova attends the award presenting ceremony.

The 17-year-old tennis player is everything any woman can dream of: beautiful and successful.

Editors at the New York-based magazine, GQ, admit that when they first saw the Russian blond, they thought she was just another copy of her famous compatriot Anna Kurnikova until they saw her play. This year's Wimbledon winner finished the year on a high note as she also took the season-ending WTA title.
