Ministry of Culture bans Premier Manager 2005
font size

Ministry of Culture recently demanded the various cultural departments across the country to ban a kind of computer named Premier Manager 2005, or Soccer Manager 2005.

It is reported that some parts of the game endanger China's sovereignty and territorial integrity, regarding the regions of China's Taipei, Hong Kong and Macao as independent states, and Tibet as "Chinese Tibet" running parallel with "China", which seriously violate China's laws and regulations and are thus met with strong protests from China's computer game players. For the moment, this game has neither been openly distributed at home nor published in Chinese version. And its circulation is mainly through pirated discs uploaded and downloaded from Internet or sold through cyber shops.

In view of this grave situation, the General Office of the Ministry of Culture recently issued an emergency notice, demanding that various local cultural administrative departments, together with public security, industrial and commercial, telecommunication as well as publishing departments, organize law-enforcement personnel to strengthen supervision over the websites, software markets, cyber cafes and newsstands that spread or sell the Premier Manager 2005. As soon as the game is found, the law executors will ban and confiscate all the CDs and punish the dealers according to law.
