font size

South Korean hockey coach Kim Chang-Back brought success to the Chinese women's hockey team. Now the men's national side is keen to see if another South Korean can work similar magic. Kim Sang-Ryul, the former South Korean women's team coach, arrived in China with rumours flying about whether he'll soon be in charge of the men's side.

The former South Korean national women' s hockey team, Kim Sang-Ryul, arrived in Guangdong to watch the national women's hockey tournament. When asked if he would be the head coach of China's national women's hockey team, he answered like this.

Kim said, "I was never interviewed in China, so it really surprises me to hear that news."

Previously he had said he would not coach again after he resigned from the South Korea's women's team because they were defeated at the Athens Olympics. But the media believe that he is actually about to take up the national men's team coach post. The final contract is not signed, so he would only comment about what he thought of the team.

Kim said, "The players have some good techniques and are in great physical condition. I am just teaching them some new tactics."

It is expected that Kim will sign the contract with the association next month.
