News from the Ministry of Commerce says African country Nigeria has officially declared that it recognizes China's full market economy status. Nigeria has become the 25th country which recognizes China's full market economy status since New Zealand first declared that in last April.
The Federal Ministry of Commerce of Nigeria said after seriously studying the report of China's market economy development the Nigerian government believes that the progress made by China since 1978 in the reform of planned economic system has been huge and its achievements made in the construction of market economy are acknowledged worldwide. Therefore the Nigerian government declared that it officially recognizes China's market economy status.
At the 8th China-ASEAN summit meeting held at the end of last month the ASEAN announced that it recognizes China's full market economy status. Before this Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Peru made the same announcement during President Hu Jintao's visit to Latin America and the APEC meeting.
With continuous efforts positive progress has been made in the negotiations between China and Australia, S.Korea, Pakistan and India while the EU, Canada, Australia, S.Korea and India have recognized the market economy status of some Chinese companies.
