Chinese Vice Premier Huang Ju said here Friday that China is willing to promote relations with African countries through cooperation in telecommunication and trade.

"The Chinese government attaches great importance to the development of telecommunication industry and we will continue to encourage Chinese telecom enterprises to further mutual beneficial cooperation with African countries," Huang told a delegation of ministers and senior officials of the telecommunication departments from nine African countries.

The delegation was in China attending a China-Africa ministerial seminar on telecommunication development.

"As developing countries, we are complementary in many fields and we also share many common interests," Huang said. He said he hopes the two sides will continue to improve communication and cooperation to further China-African relations.

So far, China has had telecommunication cooperation with over 20 African countries, covering the areas of technical assistance, equipment export and management service.
