Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met Wednesday with an Ethiopian delegation headed by Mulatu Teshome, speaker of the Ethiopian House of the Federation.

The CPPCC will expand cooperation with Ethiopian House of the Federation to contribute to the friendly relations between China and Ethiopia, Jia said.

He said Sino-Ethiopian relations have developed since the two countries forged diplomatic ties in 1970, and can be taken as a good example of the cooperation between China and African countries. He said China will continue to further relations with Ethiopia.

Jia expressed appreciation for the adherence of Ethiopia on one-China policy.

Teshome said the Ethiopian government and parliament attach importance to the all-weathered relations with the Chinese counterpart, and will continue to support the one-China policy.

He said he hoped the two countries would further the economic cooperation.
