China's top 10 public relation affairs 2004 unveiled

The selection of "China's top 10 public relation affairs 2004" sponsored by China International Relations Association was announced on December 21 in Beijing. The promotion month of "Care for women, fighting against AIDS, AIDS prevention, the successful French Culture Year in China and the promotion of 2008 Olympic economy are the top three in this selection.

Apart from those, F1's successful landing in China, the program of "China experience" launched by CCTV, Dupont's Teflon affair, Lenovo's participation in the global partner plan of International Olympic Committee, the individual fortune list by Nanfang Weekend, China Consumers' Association's challenge on "overlord terms" (forcing others to comply with the rules), Konka corporation's quick response against colour TV anti-dumping are also among the top 10 attracting the most attention with most influential affairs in 2004, and have officially entered into the list of China's top 10 public relations

China International Public Relations Association launched the annual selection of China's top 10 public relation affairs in 2002. The Shanghai World Expo, "Hero" film, Yao Ming's entry into NBA and messaging (MMS) phone business were listed in the top 10 public relation affairs in the same year. China's fighting against SARS, the successful launching of Shenzhou V spacecraft, the issue of Olympic emblem, and Real Madrid's China tour were chosen as the top 10 public relation affairs in 2003.

The selection result was appraised by "top 10" selection institution consisted of well-known scholars on communication theories, experts on public relations and senior media figures. In accordance with the principle and standard set, the appraisal was strictly made in three stages of professional nomination, cyber public votes and experts' appraisal. And all the nominees are thoroughly appraised from five aspects, namely, professional status, social significance, communication effect, innovation and planning and affair management. It goes without saying the selected top 10 affairs are of better public trust with professional representativeness.
