Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao left Beijing Wednesday to attend an international tsunami summit in Jakarta of Indonesia.

At the invitation of Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Wen flies to Jakarta to attend a special international meeting on the aftermath of Asian earthquakes and tsunamis.

More than 20 heads of state or government and representatives of international organizations will attend the summit organized by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). They will discuss international community's aid to the tsunami-hit countries and regional cooperation on disaster prevention.

Representatives from China, South Korea, Japan, the United States and New Zealand also will participate in the special conference.

In Jakarta, Wen Jiabao is expected to exchange views with leaders from related countries and international organizations on relief efforts, reconstruction and disaster prevention. He will also meet with leaders from countries that severely hit by the tsunamis.
