Commander of British forces in Gibraltar found dead
font size

Commander of British forces in Gibraltar, Commodore David White, was found dead in the swimming pool of his house on Saturday, Britain's Ministry of Defense said on Sunday.

"Police investigations into the death of Commodore White are continuing and we are therefore unable to comment further at this stage," the ministry said in a statement published on its website.

The Royal Gibraltar police said it was unlikely to be a "natural death" and that the results of a postmortem examination were awaited, according to BBC.

Born in London in 1954, White has been the commander of British Forces Gibraltar since May 2004.
