Death toll of Hong Kong tsunami victims may rise to 11

The death toll of Hong Kong tsunami victims may rise to 11, a spokesman of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government said in Hong Kong on January 13.

By 12:00 Thursday, there was one new fatality report relating to a female Hong Kong resident. Once verified, the total death toll will be 11, the spokesman said.

Meanwhile, 52 Hong Kong residents were reported to have lost contact with their families in Hong Kong. Fifty six Hong Kong residents were reported to have lost contact with their families Wednesday.

Among the missing ones, 31 were tourists to Thailand, seven to Indonesia, one to Malaysia and 13 to other tsunamis-hit areas.
