Tsunami death toll in Indonesia passes 110,000

The death toll from the Dec. 26 tsunami in the Indonesian provinces of Aceh and North Sumatra has climbed to 110,229, a statement from the Ministry of Social Affairs revealed Friday.

The ministry said 12,132 people are still missing and 703,748 were displaced by the earthquake-triggered tsunami, which also struck several other countries in the Indian Ocean.
