American, Chinese win World Cup aerials

Jeret Peterson of the United States won his first World Cup aerials skiing event, and Li Nina of China took her second title of the weekend, in Lake Placid, New York on Sunday.

Peterson, a 2002 Olympian and the U.S. aerials champion, received 250.53 points for two jumps with four twists and three flips on the final day of the competition at the MacKenzie-Intervale Jumping Complex.

Jeff Bean of Canada was second with 246.08 points and defending champion Steve Omischl of Canada finished third with 245.56.

Li had 186.72 points to edge World Cup leader Lydia Ierodiaconou of Australia, who finished with 186.01. Alla Tsuper of Belarus was third with 176.19 points.
