Ren Hui wins China's third gold at Winter Universiade

Ren Hui won the title of the women's 1,000 meters speedskating event at the 2005 World Universiade in Innsbruck, Austria on January 17.

This was Ren's second gold and the third gold medal for China.

Ren also won the gold medal of women's 500m last Friday and a silver medal at the 1,500m event last Thursday.

The 21-year-old Ren won the gold with a time of one minute 19.04 seconds which is a new Universiade record.

Paulien Van Deutekom from the Netherlands, took the silver in 1:19.99 and Polish Kata Wojcicka Trzebunia finished third in 1:21.18.
