800 British troops injured in Iraq: paper
font size

Almost 800 British soldiers have been injured in Iraq since the US-led war in March 2003, the Times reported on Tuesday.

According to the paper, newly-released government figures showed about 800 British personnel returned to the country after being injured in military operations or accidents in Iraq.

However, the Defense Ministry hoped to remain low-key on the issue of injuries, and it was not clear that how many soldiers were seriously injured, the paper reported.

Some relatives called on the British government to pay close attention to the injured.

So far, 75 British soldiers have been killed in Iraq.
