Chinese Vice President Zeng Qinghong Saturday in Caracas urged to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and seek common development at the China-Venezuela business seminar.
Addressing the seminar, Zeng said China regards ties with Latin America from the strategic viewpoint of tightening unity and cooperation among developing nations, and is making practical efforts to enhance cooperation.
He said peoples of both Latin America and China will enjoy more practical benefits brought about by the cooperation, as the two economies are highly complementary and mutual political trust is enhanced.
Zeng also called on the two sides to tighten and deepen strategic partnership of common development, give priority to economic and technological cooperation, expand new ways and enrich the substance of cooperation.
For his part, President Chavez said Venezuela enjoys sound political relations with China and the bilateral economic cooperation has a great potential.
Chavez urged business people of the two nations to join hands in working even harder to further push forward the bilateral economic ties.
Zeng arrived here Friday for an official visit, the third leg of his five-nation tour to Latin America and the Caribbean, which will also take him to Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica.
He is also scheduled to attend the opening ceremony of the first Ministerial-level Meeting of the China-Caribbean Economy and Trade Cooperation Forum 2005 on Feb. 2 in Kingston, capital of Jamaica.
