US President George W. Bush will say in his State of the Union address on Wednesday night that a Palestine state living peacefully with Israel is "within reach."

"The goal of two democratic states, Israel and Palestine, living side by side in peace, is within reach and America will help them achieve that goal, "according to excerpts from Bush's address as released by the White House before the speech.

Bush will deliver a 40-minute speech to a joint session of Congress at 9 p.m. EST (0200 GMT Thursday), the first annual speech for his second term.
