China develops two avian flu vaccines
font size

Thanks to support from the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Science and Technology, two avian flu vaccines have been successfully developed by a veterinary research institute in Harbin under the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The two vaccines, one for H5N1 sub type, have been examined and approved by a state panel of agricultural experts.

Compared with earlier ones, the H5N1 sub-type vaccine provides a longer period of immunity protection for chickens and more effective protection for waterfowl including duck and goose, experts said.
