The International Summit on Democracy, Terrorism and Security will be held in Madrid on March 8-11, said a spokesman for the organizer, the Madrid Club, on Tuesday.

The spokesman said the conference aims to draft a common agenda for an efficient response to terrorism, in memory of the victims of the terrorist activities around the world.

The Madrid Agenda will be presented to the plenary session on March 11, which marks the first anniversary of the Madrid train bombing attacks that left 192 dead and 1,500 injured.

Spanish King Juan Carlos and Prime Minister Jose L. Rodriguez Zapatero will address the forum, which will see the presence of United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan and other international officials, the spokesman said.

US President George W. Bush and his counterparts Vladimir Putin of Russia, Jacques Chirac of France, as well as German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder and British Prime Minister Tony Blair will attend the four-day event, according to the spokesman.

Other guests will be heads of the home countries of 47 foreign citizens who were killed in the Madrid attacks, the spokesman said.
