China's teenage snooker sensation Ding Junhui sailed into the quarter-finals of the 2005 Masters at Wembley.

The seventeen year old Ding Junhui entered the last eight with an impressive 6 - 1 win over Ireland's former world champion Ken Doherty.

Ding opened up in the first frame with a break of 141, Ken leveled it at one a piece before he lost the next five to Ding Junhui.

Ding with his 141 break break is first inline for this years 10,000 pounds for the highest break.

His stunning performance won praise from his opponent.

After the match Doherty said: 'He is quite mature for 17 and looks very relaxed on the big stage. He just needs a bit more experience to go to the next level and that comes from playing in tournaments like this.

"Once he tightens up he's going to be an even tougher opponent."

Ding Junhui is expected to take on current world champion and number one Ronnie O' Sullivan on Saturday.

"I would like to play Ronnie because it would be the first time we've met," Ding said.
