US President George W. Bush reiterated here on Thursday that he would use diplomacy to convince Iran that it would be unacceptable for it to develop nuclear weapons.
Bush, who is due to visit Europe next week, told a news conference that he would discuss "strategies, ways forward" with key allies who are negotiating with Iran.
"The objective is to solve this (Iranian) issue diplomatically,is to work with friends -- like we're doing with France, Germany and Great Britain -- to continue making it clear to the Iranians that developing a nuclear weapon will be unacceptable," Bush said.
Bush vowed to support Israel to defend its territory. "We will support Israel if their security is threatened," he said.
Iran categorically denies US allegations, and insists its nuclear activities are for civilian purposes.
