"Beijing Olympics Gold Bar" successfully issued

The first set of "Beijing Olympics Gold Bar" weighs 2,008 kg, 1,400 kg of which are already available before the Spring Festival, and the remaining 608 kg are to be on sale in the market after the Spring Festival.

On the afternoon of February 22, the Stock Co. Ltd. of Bank of China presented the No.29 "Beijing Olympics Gold Bar" weighing100 grams of special significance to the 29th Olympic Organizing Committee for permanent preservation, which expresses the good wishes and expectations from all social circles to the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

The highly interested "Beijing Olympics Gold Bar" was reportedly favored by numerous investors and collectors after it was first issued nationwide. Nearly 300 kg were sold on the very day it was issued in Beijing, setting a new record of the sales of gold in Beijing.

There emerged a selling spree in nearly 20 cities nationwide after the debut of the "Beijing Gold Bar" in the capital. Statistics show that by 4 o'clock in the afternoon of Feb. 21, Beijing had sold 522 kg of gold bar, Shanghai 122 kg, and Guangzhou 111 kg. .

To better satisfy the strong demand and thirst of purchasers and collectors, the latter four sets of "Beijing Olympics Gold Bar" will be gradually put into the market before the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
