New Dengue fever case confirmed in HK

The Center for Health Protection of Hong Kong has confirmed a Dengue fever case, bringing the year's new cases to two, both imported, the Hong Kong government's official website said Wednesday.

According to the website, the new case was a 54-year-old man, who traveled to Indonesia on Jan. 21 and returned to Hong Kong on Feb. 4 with fever, back pain and nausea. He was admitted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Feb. 4 and discharged on Feb. 7.

The patient lives in Yau Ma Tei and all his family members are asymptomatic, the government said.
