font size

Some 100,000 volunteers will work for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, according to an Olympic Action Plan released on Thursday by the Beijing municipal government.

The Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2008 Games (BOCOG) will launch its volunteer recruiting program by this June for the 2008 Games, said the Action Plan.

College and high school students are expected to constitute the majority of the volunteer team.

BOCOG vice president Jiang Xiaoyu said earlier that BOCOG welcome everybody, from home and abroad, who has enthusiasm for and devotion to the cause to join in hosting a successful Olympics in 2008.
