First Confucius Institute settled in the US
font size

The first Confucius Institute established by China in the US, the Confucius Institute at the University of Maryland undertaken by Nankai University in north China's port city of Tianjin, is to enroll new students soon.

This is the new positive result achieved by China in popularizing the teaching of Chinese in the US, especially in terms of adult Chinese training and the training of Chinese teacher.

Leaving for the US in the name of all the Chinese staff of the Confucius Institute, Duan Wenhan, associate professor at the School of Chinese Culture under Nankai University, is fortunate to be one of the first group of teacher taking part in the Chinese Confucius Institute project overseas.

The project of Confucius Institute is one of the nine key national "Chinese Bridge Project", which is initiatively scheduled to start 100 Confucius Institutes worldwide.
