CNOOC finds another oil and gas field in South China Sea
font size

China National Offshore Oil Corporation announced on Mar. 22 that it has found another oil and gas field, Wei 6-10-1, in the western part of South China Sea through self-exploration.

The prospecting well is located 35 kilometres southwest of Weizhou Island. After the drill-stem testing twice, the daily oil output is expected to reach 1,900 barrels and gas output 15,000 cubic metres. CNOOC plans to further explore the appraisal well on the basis of the testing so as to fix the oil and gas reserve scale.
