At the 78th Mayor's Staff Meeting of the People's Government of Beijing held on Monday the Beijing Municipal Government decided to implement the 11th-phase measures to control air pollution in 2005 and strive to increase the number of "blue skies" of second-class air quality or above to 63 percent.

Based on last year's achievement of cutting the pollutant discharge of 28 companies, Beijing will carry out pollutant discharge reduction of another 20 key companies and continue to push ahead the readjustment and relocation of some polluting companies in southeast suburb and Shijingshan district.
