font size

The pan-Arab satellite channel al-Jazeera on Wednesday showed a videotape of three Romanian journalists kidnapped in Iraq.

The video showed that the three Romanian journalists and a fourth unidentified person were sitting on the ground in a room with two armed gunmen pointed guns at them.

The three Romanians are Marie-Jeanne Ion, 32, a reporter for Prima TV, her cameraman Sorin Miscoci, 30, and Eduard Ohanesian, 37, of the Romania Libera daily newspaper. They were reported missing by the Romanian Foreign Ministry on Monday.

Al-Jazeera said an unknown militant group kidnapped them, but did not mention of any demands.
