Nepal backs China's anti-secession law

The Nepalese government unequivocally supports China's newly enacted anti-secession law, two top Nepalese ministers told visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing Friday in Kathmandu.

The Nepalese government sticks to a one-China policy, said Tulsi Giri and Kirti Nidhi Bista, two vice chairmen of the Council of Ministers, when meeting with Li separately at their offices.

"We believe the anti-secession legislation approved by the Chinese National People's Congress will contribute to achieving the goal of reunification of China," Giri said.

During the meetings, Li said China hopes the two countries could further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of politics, trade, culture, education and anti-terrorism

Li arrived here Thursday for a two-day official visit.
