Ding beats Hendry to win snooker crown

Chinese teenager Ding Junhui savored an incredible dream to make a 9-5 comeback win against seven-times world champion Stephen Hendry of Scotland to take the China Open snooker crown on Sunday.

The 18-year-old Ding also becomes the first ranking events' title winner with a wild card.

Wang Qishan, mayor of Beijing, honored snooker talent Ding the trophy and flowers at the arena after Ding rattled back 1-4 to seal the victory over the 35-year-old veteran.

"I'm not nervous at all as I consider it a practice clash, which is the major reason of the victory," said the winner," While Hendry seems a little bit nervous."

Hendry also agreed that "I didn't play well especially after I was been tied 4-4 by my ludicrous mistake on the 8th frame."
