Visiting Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met Monday with Indian Foreign Minister Natwar Singh and President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Krishna Advani.

Wen expressed appreciation for the contribution of the BJP to the improvement of Sino-Indian relations, saying the Communist Party of China (CPC) will continue to develop its relations with the BJP.

Advani said the political guiding principles on the border issue between the two countries, which were agreed up and published during Wen's visit, is an important step toward political trust.

He said the BJP will bring closer its relations with the CPC to improve friendship between the two countries and peoples.

Wen told the Indian foreign minister that he hoped the foreign ministries of the two countries would realize the agreements reached by the two sides.

Singh said Wen's visit is successful and shows the world the determination of the two countries to maintain friendly relations from generation to generation.
