The Central Military Commission (CMC) conferred an award to a satellite landing station owned by the General Armament Department of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) in a ceremony in Xi'an Monday.

The CMC awarded the title "Meritorious Landing Station" to the PLA unit, which is responsible for recovering all satellites and manned spacecraft launched by China to date.

Over the past 35 years the landing station has recovered the five Shenzhou space vehicles and 19 satellites.
