Fighting corruption to deepen reforms: Wu Guanzheng

China's senior official has called for increasing the country's capacity to prevent and fight corruption, deepening reforms and enhancing anit-corruption capacity.

Wu Guanzheng, member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, has made this call when he was making a study tour in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, between April 8-13.

During his stay, Wu visited villages and factories in the cities of Baotou, a heavy industry base, Erdos, a light and textile industries bases, and Hohhot, the regional capital, to make investigation on the current anti-corruption campaign.

In his talks with local people, the NPC leader called for stepping up restriction and supervision on power, increasing people's orderly participation in political life, bringing market role into full display in areas where the use of market mechanism is necessary, and prohibiting deals between power and money.

He called for hard measures against corrupt officials and punish them and making great efforts to eliminate the factors of corruption.
