Chinese Olympic champion Liu Xiang to run in E. China province
font size

Chinese Olympic gold medallist Liu Xiang arrived in Yichun City of East China's Jiangxi Province early Friday morning for a national track event scheduled for April 15-16.

Liu Xiang and his teammates from Shanghai will participate in the outdoor game for men's 110m hurdles.

This will be the first time for China's track hero to run in an outdoor meet since the Athens Olympic Games in August. Liu, a Shanghai native, has run in two others indoor competitions earlier this year.

Tao Min, deputy director of Yichun Sports Bureau, said the forthcoming event is a test of Liu's earlier training, adding this meet and a series of events later this year will establish his place in the field both at home and abroad.
