Hezheng Museum of Paleontologic Fossils to expand

China's only fossil museum for ancient vertebrate animals - Gansu Hezheng Museum of Paleontologic Fossils will get 300 million yuan investment from the central government and is planning to add another 4,000 square meters to the original 3,850 square meters. According to experts once the museum complex is completed its scale and collection grade will make it one of most influential paleontologic fossil museums in the world.

The second-phase project of the Hezheng Museum of Paleontologic Fossils will take the shape of an ancient animal's fossil skeleton with an exhibition hall as large as 3,000 square meters, which will consist of four parts for giant rhinoceros animals, platybelodon (shovel tusker) animal groups, equus animal groups and popularization activities respectively.
