Italy claimed the title of 2005 Yeh Bros Cup Contract Bridge Invitation tournament on Tuesday.
Italy defeated Chinese team Shanghai Qi Zhong 59-53 in the final to pocket 240,000 yuan (about 29,020 US dollars).
Canada tied with Shanghai SMEG 51-51 in the third-place play-off and each earned 20,000 yuan (2,418 US dollars).
Kang Meng and Li Xiaoyi from China won the pairs competition with 87.5 points and their compatriot Li Jie and Hou Xu, who scored 86.5 points, finished second.
Bauk Muller and Simon de Wijs from the Netherlands were third with 86.5 points.
The Yeh Bros Cup, held by Chinese Contract Bridge Association (CCBA), has a total prize money 328,000 yuan (39,661 dollars).
