"National treasures" get together in Shaanxi
font size

With arrival of two crested ibises, four "national treasures"-giant panda, crested ibis, golden monkey and takin have got together at the "wild animal's kingdom" in Foping County, Shaanxi Province for the first time.

According to Yong Yange, director of Panda Research Center of the Foping Natural Reserve, two crested ibises were found frolicking in a big tree at the Daguping natural protection center a couple of days ago. After frolicking for half an hour, they flew to Xihekou to seek foods. In the evening they perched in a tree nearby. It seemed the crested ibises have taken the tree as their "new home".

Situated at the south slope of the Qinling Mountains, the Foping natural reserve is a key natural reserve for protection of pandas, where 338 kinds of spinal animals including seven types of endangered animals under state key protection live.
