Zheng Jianchao, academician with Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and director of honour with China Electric Power Research Institute (CEPRI), said on Apr. 26 in Beijing that the world's first 1,000 KV high tension line will be put into commercial operation by 2010 in China, which will greatly ease the tense situation of coal, power and crude oil supply and transmission in the country.
It is said that China's resources centre lies in its west region, however, the most energy sources are consumed in the east provinces. The application of extra high voltage power transmission technique could better optimize the distribution of resources. When the extra high-tension power grid is completed, it will enhance the development of intensification process in western coal-fired power basis, reduce the construction scale of coal-fired power projects in eastern regions, ease the tense supply tension of coal, power and crude oil transmission, as well as reduce the emission of pollutant.
Moe than 200 experts and enterprises representatives from the US, Italy, Japan, Russia, Ukraine as well as China participate the conference.
