font size

Six US soldiers have been killed in separate attacks in Iraq in the past two days, the US military said in a statement on Saturday.

Four US soldiers were killed and two others wounded in a roadside bomb blast in Tal Afar town on Thursday, some 400 km north of Baghdad, the statement said.

Another two US soldiers, assigned to the 155th Brigade Combat Team, II Marine Expeditionary Force, were killed in a car bomb attack near Diyara, west of Baghdad, on Friday, it said.

Elsewhere, four US soldiers in a convoy were wounded when their Humvee rolled into a ditch late Friday night near Abu Ghraibprison, just west of Baghdad, according to the US military.

Over 1,585 US servicemen have been killed in Iraq since the US invasion of the oil-rich country in March 2003.
