Mortar shell hits Gaza Strip settlement
font size

Palestinian militants fired on Saturday morning a mortar shell at Gush Katif settlements in southern Gaza Strip, an Israeli army spokesman said. The spokesman said that the mortar shell damaged the settlement's greenhouses but there was no report of injuries in the attack.

The spokesman said that Palestinian militants fired Friday afternoon several mortar shells at Neveh Dekalim settlement west of the southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Younis. No causalities were reported.

The spokesman also said that Israeli troops arrested overnight two unarmed Palestinians who attempted to enter Israel near the Kisoveem crossing on the borders between central Gaza Strip and Israel.

He added that the Israeli army had arrested some 50 Palestinians trying to infiltrate into Israel from Gaza since the beginning of 2005.
