A machine lays rail tracks for the Qinghai-Tibet Railway at the Damxung Railway Station in Damxung County, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region May 18, 2005. Tracks of 878 kilometers have been laid on the 1,142-kilometer Qinghai-Tibet Railway. The track laying of the whole railway is expected to be finished in the second half of 2005. The Qinghai-Tibet Railway, the highest in the world, links Golmud in northwest China's Qinghai Province and Lhasa, capital of Tibet Autonomous Region.
