Former Chilean ruler Augusto Pinochet, 89, was hospitalized Thursday due to a heart problem.

Pinochet's spokesman Guillermo Garin said the condition of the former leader is not grave.

Pinochet was taken to the Military Hospital of Santiago from his house of Los Boldos, 140 kilometers southwest of Santiago.
