China will offer Palestine assistance worth 50 million yuan (about 6 million dollars), mobile housing and medical, recreational and sports articles, agreed to during Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas' visit to China, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan in Beijing Thursday.
Abbas left here Thursday after a three-day state visit to China. During his stay in Beijing, China and Palestine signed five agreements on economy, trade and technology.
In the agreements, China promised to offer Palestine assistance worth 50 million yuan and such material assistance as medical equipment, mobile housing as well as recreation and sports articles, said Kong at a regular press conference.
During Abbas' visit, Chinese President Hu Jintao held talks with Abbas, and Premier Wen Jiabao and State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan met with him on separate occasions, said Kong. "The two sides reached consensus on further promoting friendly cooperation and jointly pushing forward the Middle East peace process."
