Ukrainian looks to 2006 chess tourney
font size

Ukranian grand master (GM) Vassily Ivanchuk said he would likely defend his title in the In Memoriam Capablanca Chess Tournament in 2006.

Ivanchuk, ranked sixth in the world, had an outstanding performance in the Elite Group (category XV) - which featured seven GMs, remaining undefeated, having granted only three draws.

"I'm satisfied with the tournament, it was a chess celebration and I think I could participate in the next edition."
