Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas reasserted on Tuesday that negotiations are the only road to peace between Israel and the Palestinians, local press reported.
During a speech at an International Socialism conference held here Monday evening, Abbas renewed his commitment to the road map peace plan as the basis to solve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
Secretary General of the International Socialism Anthony Petros, Israeli Ahad party chief Yosi Bellin and Labor party's Amram Mitsna and Afraim Sneh attended the conference.
Petros pledged support for the choice of peace between the Israeli and Palestinian sides.
Bellin stressed the possibility to reach a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and expressed confidence over Abbas' capability of helping realize a lasting peace in the region.
