Nearly 1,000 kilometers of the Qinghai-Tibet railway finished

Workers are busy with the track-laying of the Qinghai-Tibet railway project in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region on May 23, 2005. Nearly 1,000 kilometers railway of the project has been finished so far. Linking Golmud in the northwestern Qinghai Province and Lhasa, capital city of Tibet, the 1,142-kilometer railway is expected to open to traffic in 2007.
