The home of Xuan paper, Jing county in central China's Anhui province, has launched a three-year development plan to vitalize Xuan paper industry there. According to the plan, the annual output of Xuan paper and painting and calligraphy paper will hit 2,000 tons and 8,000 tons from now to 2008 respectively, firmly securing the strategic position of Jing county in terms of Xuan paper production in domestic and international market.
Xuan paper produced in Jing county has been proved as the protected production of place of origin. So far, an industrial group including more than 300 Xuan paper and painting and calligraphy paper enterprises has been formed, with the annual output of various painting and calligraphy paper and processing paper standing at 4,000 tons.
