Fatah condemns Hamas decision to boycott local election re-vote
font size

The Fatah movement on Tuesday strongly condemned Hamas' decision to boycott a local election re-vote due in three areas in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday.

Abdallah al Ifranji, a senior Fatah leader, told a news conference that Hamas does not have the right to boycott the re- vote.

"Such a move means that Hamas does not respect the Palestinian law and Palestinian courts," he said.

Earlier in the day, Hamas announced that it will boycott the re- vote due to the Fatah's violation of common understandings reached between the two movements.
