International Luis Figo will be the captain of the Portuguese national soccer team in the qualifier against Slovakia on Saturday, local radio station TSF reported on Wednesday.
Figo returned to the national team in response to a call from Brazilian coach Luiz Felipe Scolari, after nine months of absence.
Recently the midfielder said "I am hundred-percent ready" and reminded that he had only had expressed his intention to "take a pause" in his participation with the national soccer team, when he announced his retirement from it at the end of the Euro 2004, in which the the hosts ended as runner-ups and Greece as champion.
